| General Information |
The
layout recreates the New York Central in the late 1940's with traffic
controlled by towers and timetable. Albany Union Station is the
focus of the passenger operation and is always busy with the rush of
the Great Steel Fleet running between New York City and Chicago.
Albany also generates LCL freight, REA, and mail traffic on the
layout. Rensselaer yard is equally busy handling freight traffic
coming into and leaving the Albany district. A smaller West
Albany yard recreates a portion of the large engine facility that
supported the eastern division of the NYC.
The layout features all handlaid track and remote controlled turnouts
at each interlocking tower. The Rensselaer engine facility
features a fully-functioning turntable. |
